Winery Background and History

Domaine Antoine Jobard is a family-owned estate located in Meursault, within Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune region. Antoine Jobard took over the five-hectare estate from his father in 2007 and continues to produce approximately 2,000 cases annually. The domaine is renowned for producing steely, taut Meursault wines that authentically express the unique terroirs of the region.

Producer and Winemaker

Antoine Jobard oversees all aspects of production, from vineyard management to winemaking, ensuring that traditional methods are honored while embracing modern techniques to enhance wine quality.

Vineyards and Microclimate

The 2021 Meursault is sourced from approximately 3 hectares of vines planted between 1960 and 1999 across several lieux-dits, including Les Chaumes de Narvaux, Sous La Velle, Les Corbins, En La Barre, Tillets, Meix Tavaux, and Pré de Manche. These sites feature clay and limestone soils, contributing to the wine’s minerality and complexity.

Tasting Notes

The 2021 Meursault from Domaine Antoine Jobard is described as having a more elegant and better-layered nose, combining notes of acacia blossom, hazelnut, pear, and citrus elements. The rich, concentrated, and almost painfully intense medium-weight flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract, contributing to the lovely texture of the focused, long, and balanced finale.

Food & Wine Pairing

This wine pairs excellently with dishes such as roasted poultry, seafood, and creamy cheeses. Its acidity and fruit flavors complement these foods, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Service Methods and Temperatures

For optimal enjoyment, serve this wine at a temperature of 12-14°C (54-57°F). Decanting for about 30 minutes before serving can help open up the aromas and flavors, especially in its youth.

Storage and Aging Potential

The 2021 vintage has the potential to develop additional complexity over the next 6 to 8 years. Proper cellaring conditions—consistent temperature, moderate humidity, and protection from light—will facilitate this development.
