Winery Background and History
La Grange Tiphaine is a 17-hectare estate in the Loire Valley, managed by Damien and Coralie Delecheneau. Both studied oenology and viticulture in Bordeaux and gained international experience before returning to France in 2002 to take over Damien’s family domaine in Amboise. They converted the estate to organic and biodynamic practices, expanding into Montlouis-sur-Loire. Today, they produce award-winning wines that reflect the pure expression of their terroir.
Producer and Winemaker
Damien and Coralie Delecheneau serve as both producers and winemakers at La Grange Tiphaine. Their collaborative approach emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing the terroir to express itself fully in their wines. They focus on sustainable practices, including the use of horses instead of tractors, water recycling, and minimizing packaging waste.
Vineyards and Microclimate
The vineyards for “Les Grenouillères” are located in the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation, benefiting from a temperate climate influenced by the Loire River. This climate provides cool mornings and warm afternoons, ideal for Chenin Blanc. The soils are primarily clay and limestone, contributing to the wine’s minerality and complexity. The estate follows biodynamic principles, enhancing soil health and vine vitality.
