Winery Background:

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is a highly regarded winemaker in Burgundy, known for his precise, terroir-driven white wines. After working at his family estate, Domaine Marc Colin, he established his own label in 2001, quickly gaining a reputation for producing some of the finest expressions of Chardonnay in the region. His wines are characterized by their purity, tension, and minimal intervention approach, with the use of larger barrels to maintain freshness and balance.

Pernand-Vergelesses is a lesser-known but respected appellation in the Côte de Beaune, known for producing elegant and mineral-driven wines. The Les Belles Filles vineyard is located on well-draining limestone soils, which contribute to the wine’s refined minerality and fresh acidity.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Pale gold with green highlights, bright and clear in the glass.

Nose: The nose is fresh and expressive, offering aromas of green apple, citrus peel, and white flowers like acacia. There are subtle undertones of wet stone and flint, along with a hint of almond and buttered toast, adding complexity without being overly rich.

Palate: Medium-bodied with a crisp, vibrant acidity. The palate showcases flavors of lemon zest, pear, and green apple, supported by a distinctive chalky minerality that gives the wine precision and tension. There are notes of hazelnut, brioche, and a touch of vanilla from oak aging, but the fruit and minerality remain the focus. The texture is creamy yet focused, offering a nice balance between richness and freshness.

Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering citrus and mineral notes that leave a clean, refreshing sen
