Winery Background and History
Founded in 1877 in Tuscany, Italy, Ruffino has a rich heritage in producing esteemed Italian wines. The Greppone Mazzi estate, located in the renowned Brunello di Montalcino region, is dedicated to crafting exceptional Sangiovese wines that reflect the unique terroir of the area.
Producer and Winemaker
Ruffino’s experienced winemaking team combines traditional techniques with modern practices to create wines that embody the character and elegance of Tuscany. Their commitment to quality is evident in each bottle produced.
Vineyards and Microclimate
The Greppone Mazzi estate’s vineyards are situated at elevations ranging from 210 to 460 meters above sea level. The soils vary from loamy clay to loamy silt, enriched with gravel, providing an ideal environment for cultivating Sangiovese Grosso grapes.
Vinification & Aging Methods
After careful selection, the grapes undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 36 months in a combination of oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, allowing it to develop complexity and depth.
