Winery Background and History
Domaine Frédéric Mabileau, based in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil in France’s Loire Valley, has a viticultural heritage dating back to 1620. In 1988, Frédéric Mabileau planted his first vines in the ‘Les Rouillères’ plot, marking the beginning of the current estate. Over the years, the domaine expanded by merging with Frédéric’s father’s estate and transitioned to organic farming practices. The commitment to quality and sustainability has positioned the domaine as a notable producer of Cabernet Franc in the region.
Producer and Winemaker
Following the tragic passing of Frédéric Mabileau in August 2020, the estate has been managed by his wife, Nathalie, and their sons, Charly and Rémy. The family continues to uphold the domaine’s philosophy of organic and biodynamic viticulture, ensuring the production of pure and complex expressions of Cabernet Franc.
