Winery Background and History

Masi Agricola, a family-owned winery in the Veneto region of Italy, has been a prominent figure in winemaking since the 18th century. The Boscaini family, who have managed the estate for seven generations, are known for their dedication to traditional techniques and innovation. Masi is particularly renowned for pioneering the “Appassimento” method, which involves drying grapes to concentrate their flavors. This technique is a hallmark of their wines, reflecting the rich heritage and terroir of the Valpolicella region.


Producer and Winemaker

Masi Agricola produces the Levarìe Soave Classico under the expertise of their technical team, led by Raffaele Boscaini. The team combines traditional winemaking practices with modern technology to craft wines that express the unique characteristics of the Veneto region. Their approach emphasizes sustainability, precision, and respect for the local environment, ensuring each bottle reflects the quality and authenticity Masi is known for.


Vineyards and Microclimate

The grapes for Levarìe Soave Classico are sourced from vineyards in Monteforte d’Alpone, a commune in the historic Soave Classico zone. The area is characterized by east-facing slopes, known as “Levarìe,” which benefit from the light and cool morning sun. The soil is deep and loose-textured, with large areas of basalt and volcanic rock, contributing to the wine’s complexity and minerality.


Vinification & Aging Methods

The grapes were gently crushed, with 20% undergoing cryomaceration for 24 hours at 5°C. The remaining juice was fermented traditionally at 12–16°C for 15 to 20 days in stainless steel tanks, using selected yeasts. The wine aged for four months: 20% in oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel. 


Tasting Notes

Levarìe Soave Classico 2023 presents a pale straw yellow color with greenish hues. The nose reveals intense floral aromas with clear hints of wisteria flowers, bananas, and pears. On the palate, it is strikingly fresh, well-balanced with good weight and structure, and finishes dry and refreshing. 


Food & Wine Pairing

This wine pairs excellently with a variety of dishes, including classic Italian starters, soups, pasta or simple rice dishes with Mediterranean flavors (olive oil, vegetables), and fish dishes. Its refreshing acidity makes it an ideal aperitif and a versatile companion to many meals. 


Service Methods and Temperatures

Serve Levarìe Soave Classico at a temperature of 8–10°C (46–50°F) to fully appreciate its aromas and flavors. Chilling the wine enhances its freshness and highlights its citrus and floral notes. Use medium-sized white wine glasses to allow the wine to express its full bouquet.


Storage and Aging Potential

While Levarìe Soave Classico is enjoyable upon release, it has the potential to age gracefully for up to 3 years. Proper storage in a cool, dark place with stable temperatures will preserve its freshness and allow subtle complexities to develop over time.
